Each room in the 600  year old Manor house is dedicated to different  era. This room was  styled  to represent  what a kitchen looked like at the turn of the 20th century  in the early 1900 s

There is a potted history of the house  on the following link :-

That is a very nice architectural interior Polly.  Just the right viewpoint to capture the whole room and that's not easy when you're shooting into the window light because it is so easy to burn out the window detail.  Exposure + processing? Nicely presented as well.

You are all very kind with  your  comments and observations ..Here is the view  from the opposite side facing where i  stood for the first image ..   Clicking  on it  for the larger version may  show more detail of all the interesting   items  that  make the time scale  very believable ,,, It's the sort of detail required by those  film makers and dramatists when setting  scenes for period dramas ...

That last image really is the winner for me.

Great processing and loads of little details to feast the eyeballs on. Lovely!

The Belfast sink by the window......... in Lancashire, a kitchen sink like this was often referred to as a 'slopstone'. Anyone else heard this?

That’s a new one on me Korks ... never heard of slopstone before .  Thanks for your kind comment..  this was indeed a kitchen full of interesting bits and pieces  though it was the lighting that initially attracted me record the various aspects of the scene . They reminded me  slightly of those old Dutch paintings like Vermeer’s Milkmaid that so often were beautifully lit via a window .
