Spiders.....

After mentioning that we have lots of tiny spiders atm I went out for a look yesterday afternoon and found 3 slightly bigger:

On the garden shed, not very big, only about 6mm in length;

Then I found another one on its web, a bit bigger, about an inch long:

Then spotted this one, a St Andrew's Cross spider with very distinctive colour:

And just another closer:

We have had rain today so they have disappeared again, but with that colour I think I'll spot him again!

This is one....brilliant...set Dee......

Your camera takes good detailed close ups.........don’t get poking around one of OZ`s dodgy spiders will you ?

Thanks Fuji - I thought we had lots of spiders where we lived before, but nowhere near as many as are here atm. As for the 'dodgy ones', I have never seen, or killed as many Redbacks before. I don't kill spiders if they are harmless because I find them interesting, but Redbacks are venomous and nasty, so out they go - at least a dozen of them!!

The last spider image...Wow..what a colourful chap eh? strange how he/she keeps his/her legs paired up. Well spotted Dee :)

I think that is why they got their name Denis, St Andrew's spider, they usually seem to have their legs like that and stretched down towards the strengthened part of the web, which does look like a cross when seen overall.
