  8. Found my first globular springtail of 2024 today on the recycling bin. Just a Dicyrtomina saundersi but still nice to find. A good sized one though, perhaps 3mm long. Paul.
  9. Thank you Polly Paul.
  10. Ta Geoff. Paul.
  11. These are in the shed today - I do have a healthy amount of cellar spiders living there, and they have been joined by a fair few mozzies as well. The egg sac is that of a piate spider. Paul.
  12. Congrats Polly, a great way to end the year Paul.
  13. What a beautiful bird Polly, you're clearly pleased as punch, and rightly so. Paul.
  14. I've been watching from the background (I don't do a lot of photography in winter, lol) and for this weeks winner I have picked mikbone's Frozen Lilys image. The plant at the top right seems to be a happy face looking across at to playful relatives! (I know, I have a weird imagination). The cold blue with the still vivid greens caught my attention too. Well done Billy. Original thread here: Paul.
  15. Welcome back Mucker - I used to also work at Jessops (in Preston). Paul.

  22. Yarrow Valley Country Park is a country park managed by Chorley Borough Council in Lancashire, England. It follows the River Yarrow for about 6 miles (9.7 km). It contains much woodland and includes nature reserves, the best known being Birkacre and Duxbury Woods. Parts of the park are reclaimed collieries and other old industrial sites. A haven of tranquillity and beautiful countryside that spans over 700 acres its picturesque landscapes are brimming with rich biodiversity, make it a favoured destination for many. Paul.
  23. Thanks Leon. Your pics will be on a card hopefully... Paul
  24. Unbinding should not be an issue. There are YT videos showing the way to do it. Anyone that can't must be "less than capable at following instructions " shall we say... BTW, mine has the RC-N1 phone controller. Paul.
