  1. That’s a very interesting set. Over what timeframe did you take the series?

  3. Your photos make me wish I was there! Great phots, ColinB
  4. I have the privilege of choosing the best photo of the week this week. This week, I've chosen Vanguard's set of photos of stormy skies titled "Storms". I loved all these photos, as did other TIPF members, judging by the number of "likes" and positive comments, but my choice for POTW is the third image that showed storm clouds over a wind "farm". I like the simplicity of the composition. Well done, Vanguard.
  5. Well executed and the title is brilliant.
  6. I love all of these and it’s hard to choose a favourite. Think I prefer #3.
  7. Yes I can see why you’d be planning some sunset and sunrise photos of that lovely scene. So much beauty. Have you moved to this area recently?
  8. Yes I can imagine that is true. I rarely see scenes like that though.
  9. I love scenes like that. Great composition.
  10. Where are these bays, Clicker? Great photos.
  11. I would never get tired of looking at that tree. Lovely.
  12. This insect found its way inside and was very immobile, so I set it on the edge of a wooden spoon and took some macro photos of it last night using twin flash. the side view is a single shot and the front view a stack of 5 photos. The contrast between the black background and light subject threw Photoshop's auto stacking function off and the results were pretty bad with lots of flare. The front view is the best of them. I put the insect in a cloth bag so I could resume today but it had escaped overnight is now lerking somewhere in my house. It has plenty of insect company with the elm tree beetles that "overwintered" (as the elm tree beetle treatment guy described it) in my roof space and crawled out with the warmer weather this week.
  13. Thanks Paul and Clicker. I’ve been using the 60mm for about 9mths. When shooting tiny subjects like insects, I can focus within a few inches but of course, many insects take off when you get close. Does the 85mm allow the same magnification from a bit further away?
  14. I thought you used a Laowa 60mm lens, Paul, like mine. The reason I ask is because I’m interested in the comparison btn these two lens and whether you have experience with with both.
  15. Excellent capture, Paul. Did you use the Laowa 85mm lens with this one?
  16. Congratulations, Clicker. The beach looks pristine.
  17. It’s great to have you back posting, Fuji. These photos look good in black and white: sharp with lots of contrast.
  18. Great photos of Birmingham. Love the first one especially.
  19. Barking Owl - one of our Australian Owls. I took this photo at a raptor conservation centre before Covid.
  20. We are in our third year of La Nina weather with higher than usual rainfall. The growth of plants is extraordinary and of course so is the insect population that relies on it.
  21. Some great photos this week everyone. My personal favourite and my POTW is Rybear's Surprise Sunrise set especially this one.
  22. Great set, Rybear. All four are well composed. I tried but can't pick a favourite.

    Youve deleted your post, John?
  24. A nice set of images of a memorable occasion. I enjoyed looking at the set. #4 is the photo that appealed the most - an interesting perspective.
