skógafoss (foss means waterfall) in southern iceland.

this is 10ish stacked shots.  4 to cover the dof throughout the frame and another 5 or 6 to remove people milling about on the rocks.  there were a ton of people out there.  normally i try to wait it out and get everything in one go, but it wasn't happening.  and it was misting heavily so as i was waiting for people i would have to clean off the lens.

fuji 50r & 32-64mm, tripod and wet shoes.

Then the wait was worth it. I like the tones and the simplicity of the shot.... not that the processing was simple, but the effect you have created, the sense of bleakness but with those falls in the background adding raw motion, make this a stunner.

Phew ! I almost sound like I know what I'm talking about :)

That’s an impressive bit of kit you are using there Loki ... and an impressive image too .....

I am Interested to have seen a person or two in the scene to maybe nail the perspective of the scale of the view  though I know we often find people detracting from a landscape ...      I’m always trying to get rid of them ? but occasionally they play their part .

thanks denis.  the ground was black due to iceland's volcanic activity, but it created some amazing tones in the landscape.  the processing for removing people is pretty simple once you do it a few times.  esp. in a scene like this where you don't have elements from the foreground superimposed over items in the background.

thanks clicker.  the 50r is nice.  it feels a lot like the x series but i don't have the issues with lightroom that i had with the x series.  i was purposefully trying to avoid having people in the shot here because everyone does that.  this is the famous waterfall where someone wears a bright yellow rain jacket in front of it.

An impressive waterfall.  I like the composition of this shot, with the rock in the foreground.

thanks hatter.

Very nice - I could understand why lots of people would be going to look at that, I certainly would if I could.

thanks kobione.

Ive seen so many shots from there of this, but the way you have approached it makes it different to the rest - very nice and worth the effort

thanks.  i had to wait for a few yellow rain coat shoots to finish at this location.

Yes, I had exactly the same problem with the selfie brigade

i had a problem with the cosplay people.  40 year olds dressed up like disney princesses or viking women seemed to be at every stop.  and they'd just run into the scene and get their picture taken without worrying about who else was shooting.
