Long Bodied Cellar Spider (7 images)

Latin name Pholcus phalangioides, this arachnid is sometimes called the 'Long-legged Cellar Spider' - it is relatively easy to identify due to the very long legs and cylindrical body.

I found it in the garden shed - and those long legs sure make it awkward for framing!

Great shots Paul. Harvestmen are also difficult to frame because of their long legs.....

Agreed - and it's surprising how many people mix up harvestmen and these spiders!

An incredible set Paul.... parts of our `Victorian house, and my workshop are invaded by dozens of these....or Harvestmen..// I must trawl through my old macro shots, to see if mine have the Mandibles...and eight legs....
