  1. That's a good image all round. Curious about its antennae (if that's the right word). Has it lost one or is it just the viewpoint.
  2. Missed these. That's a nice collection. It's also nice to have such a variety in one place.
  3. That's a nice set David. I like the shot of the Vickers Close in particular.
  4. The second to last one had me guessing for a while but I think I've recognised it as a fork?? Interesting set and 60 mins.
  5. Thanks David, thanks Polly. Polly the sun was just off to the left, you can just see it encroaching into the LH edge of the image. I think it would have to have been more in front of me to create any sort of refection. I posted an image some time ago which was taken About half an hour later that was against the sun as it went down along the coast which was to the left.
  6. A well selected collection Polly and nicely lit as well.
  7. My favourite cathedral. You've captured those aspects of the cathedrals architecture that I admire the most, particularly in the final shot.
  8. I hesitate to call her a moggy. Far too regal for that and bright eyed to boot. Just a lovely feline. Sorry to hear about your googlies Fuj. Only upwards from now on and it looks like you have made a good start. Just keep it up.
  9. Like the second shot a lot. Two years ago these set up shop in one of our bird houses. Every time we went to weed the bed below it, they swarmed out and chased us off. Last year they chose the eves by the back gate. The good news is that they eventually move on.
  10. The ubiquitous White Tailed Bumble Bee, the only Bumble Bee that is aggressive and stings. We have loads of them here but at least they are doing a job of pollinating. Nice capture.
  11. Definitely the golden hour. Nicely seen and captured.
  12. Come to think of it, nor have I. Nice capture. Probably a bit like a local cricket match. Intense for the participants but nice to have going on in the background while you snooze away in a deck chair on a warm sunny afternoon.
  13. Two nice shots. I like each one for different reasons. The first one for the light. The second for the atmosphere.
  14. Nice capture Denis. Pity about the Barn Owls. I'd love to capture any sort of owl in the wild but I never see them either.
  15. Nice record Rye. Is it worth a day out?(we're beginning to get out and about). Presumably there is a resident ghost or two?
  16. Thanks for the comments. I must admit that I've since learned about Damselfly wings at rest and hence my initial change of mind. What pushed me towards the Black Darter was that the British Dragonfly society site describes the female Black Darter as similar to the Common Darter but a small species with black spots on the wings. The common Darter is larger with red spots on the wings however, just by looking at various photographs on the Web, I couldn't make up my mind so I wasn't sure. I have shots of male Black Darters taken in the same area (Foulshaw Moss) but not at the same time as this was taken.
  17. Not completely sure of the ID. It is smaller than most Dragon flies and for a while I assumed it to be a Damselfly but the area behind the head is all wrong for a Damselfly. The Black Darter is described as being small and the colourings are about right but I stand to be corrected. Fuji X-T2 55-200mm
  18. Typical of the hill areas around here Polly. Nice capture.
  19. Nice to hear from you despite everything. Glad everything so far is OK. I had a colleague who went through the same thing and at the end of it all his comment was that it was all worth while because for the first time in years he was able to dance with his daughter at her wedding, so things to look forward. Stay safe and keep us up to date.
  20. Thanks all for the comments. I keep hoping for a bit of space on the wall but as yet nothing has qualified. Keeps me trying though.
  21. Yes, one of those situations where you are looking around desperately to make best use of it. Loads of drama Poly, well worth capturing. Nice image.
  22. Missed this. Congrats Vanguard.
