Korky on Radio Lancashire .....

Just for your information ....Gill telephoned me today to say Radio Lancashire are doing a tribute  to Korky .( Steve) at 1620 hrs and 1640 hrs . I imagine it may well be available as a podcast if you miss it ... It may include a recording of him reading one of his monologues. No doubt it will make us chuckle...  How we'll miss him  here ...

You will need to register or sign in to listen to it, the BBC has done this to all their content. The segments about Steve are at roughly 14 minutes and 40 minutes into the program

I enjoyed that, I really didnt know how well known he was in the area, or realised exactly how talented he was.

I am glad to have known him in a small way through this forum of ours.

Yup.  As Polly mentioned, I listened to it live.  Just how well known he is came as a surprise to me as well.  That excerpt from his poem "Boring Brenda" had me searching Amazon for the three books that he published, but no luck.

Gill had copies of two of his books at the funeral, A Sporting Life and Why I left the Scouts, I'm sure Gill wouldn't mind posting copies to those that want one in return for a donation to the Rosemere Cancer Foundation. Both Clicker and me have Gill's home address.

 I think I’d rather ask Gill for a price to include postage for the books Rye as I  think the donation related  to the books offered in lieu of flowers for the funeral. . I’m talking to her tomorrow as I had sent a text to her this afternoon to ask how anyone else could purchase the books as  I  got mine direct from Steve....

I have spoken to Gill today and unfortunately she has no more copies of Steve’s books I’m afraid..  and there are no plans for another print run but  Gill has asked me to thank you for your interest and kind comments .
