Its been a bit of a bleak afternoon but as I was driving along the coast I decided a quick stop for a long exposure shot of the pier might be a canny way to spend a half hour.

That would be a half hour of cold, grey light and lurking in a bus shelter with my 55-200mm poking out as the wind was so strong I couldn't get a steady 30 second long exposure - I swear I get funny looks everywhere I go

Great image and well worth the funny looks, BP. As said before, would look good printed and hung on a wall somewhere.

For nostalgic reasons I often have a look at the places that our TIPF friends go to, on Google Earth.  I did this for Roker to have a look at the pier. While there I had a look at some of the images that others had posted and there are some stunning shots of the lighthouse by John Kirkwood. Don't know if he's a pro or not but they are well worth a look.

Brilliant image .. And absolutely perfectly composed. ... You have a rare talent in my opinion ..where  your artistic and technical abilities complement each other in equal measure. One of those images that you just know will be remembered . I just love it Beepy .. Stunning photography Sir .. Take a bow :respect:
