Ooooer.  That feels a bit “Alfred  Hitchcock” Van..

The first staircase works well  taking one up into the darkness and unknown but my fave is the last staircase with shadows  from  the wrought iron and the darkness either side of the diagonal . I prefer the composition in this one though it doesn’t have the same “scare” factor !  Where was  this  ?

That was my first thought, Polly. I expected to see Norman Bates' mother at the foot of the stairs. Great work, Van.

These are some of the back stairs of wimpolehall, Cambridgeshire . I’m really happy how theses turned out considering how busy the hall was. When I pass the first one , it just looked so sinister and dark. After that I went looking for the others.
