MONOCHROME ON THE EDGE

FUJI

Recommended Posts

A pair of edgy-mono Street Portraits from Thursday's jaunt into Leamington Spa.

The first as taken as I waited for a bus....he was walking at quite a pace, and very close, so I needed to be ...on the ball.

The second was shot from the bus window, hence the faint vertical lines....but; all that is part of the immediacy of this kind of study....as the title says...Edgy Monochromes.

Fuji you post a few 'street' pics on here but that top picture r e a l l y  is something else.

The Man and the Van in almost perfect harmony, a superb one in a million picture.

This photograph for me is the best 'street' picture I have seen by anyone anywhere for some time and I truly mean that

I just keep coming back to this ....  mesmerising  ....  Luck  may have played a very small part in the passing van  but it is a quality image despite that ... ...  it may even be worth considering a silverpoint version Fooj..  for those of you who don't know .., Fooj has done some brilliant portraits in silverpoint and watercolour  of some of his photographic street portraits that he very kindly sent to me via email . He is rather modest about them but I hope he finds a space to air them with their  photographic counterparts somewhere on the forum...

I think luck plays a part in many of the best photographs Polly, being in the right place at the right time is not something we can often plan, I also think the phrase 'you need to be in it to win it' works too. The image would not be as strong without the van and luck played its part that day, Fuji certainly 'won' with this picture (and I keep coming back to it too).
