  1. Good spot - we didn't see we the godwits much when we birdwatching at Silverdale RSPB. Paul.
  2. Is it not a black tailed godwit Fogey? Paul.
  3. Haha, tiny starter course... Paul.
  4. Poor thing though - but they are tough cats... Paul.
  5. Paul

    Spider.

European Garden Spider - Araneus diadematus Very nice. Paul.
  6. That's a nice little flower - imagine that taken on the 15mm.... Paul.
  7. Nice touch with the sun on the top of the rock. Paul.
  8. The reflection works very well again. Paul.
  9. Just a few from tonight - the first actually flew in and landed on the chopping board, the others were on the rhubarb leaf and the old wooden bird table - both in their own dining areas! Paul.
  10. I knew you'd be liking these, lol.. If you get it from that previous link, I reckon delivery would be very quick - mine arrived from LAOWA themselves inside of 4 days! Paul.
  11. I'm assuming a sawfly? It was on the soil below the zinnia's and didn't look too healthy, so I carefully popped it onto the flower, maybe that will help it, though I fear it's the wrong flower, and perhaps too late anyway... Paul.
  12. Looks like some sort of liquid at the side, so maybe a seed that has leaked some juices that the wasp was eating like it might from an apple? Paul.
  13. Yes they are very good fliers but strangely it's not often I see them doing so. I suppose when a bug flies by we often don't really see what it was but chances are we've seen beetles in the air. Paul.
  14. There are 1300+ species in the UK, so always a good chance of seeing some until the end of October. Paul.
  15. At nearly an inch long, the ground beetles are one of the good bugs to have in your garden. Paul.
  16. Thank you gents, it's interesting if nothing else. But getting really close to a subject is extremely tough. Paul.
  17. Cross spider, female. You might find more before too long... Paul.
  18. You've maybe seen a few from our family walk with the 60mm lens already this week... Here are some taken on our family walk around the Brockholes Nature Reserve on Monday. Bracket fungus, grey-coral fungus, dead mans fingers,, more toadstools and fungus, fallen leaves and more. This lens is so different. And to have the backgrounds contributing to the overall scene, just makes things so different again. @Clicker I'm sure these will again make you dream... Paul.
  19. I think only one might have met it's demise... Paul.
  20. Sunlight makes them vibrant with that background, certainly helps a bit to make her stand out more. Paul.
  21. Paul

    Dragonfly

Yeah, the Brockholes Reserve is chocca with them. Paul
  22. On our walk on Monday, amongst other photos I found a wasp that had been in the Himalayan balsam flowers, but upon leaving, laden with pollen, it made a fatal move and became entwined in a spider web... It seemed to capture the attention of another... Paul.
  23. This orb weaver was well rounded and well fed! Paul.
  24. 3 photo's of a reasonably less flittish dragon as we walked around the nature reserve... Paul.
  25. I'd have one of those if I didn't have my Manfotto - it's quite heavy mine! Paul.
