  1. This is Downham Village in Lancashire, on a very blustery day today (March 22nd) - you can see the flowers and even clothing on washing lines being harried by the wind - where the famous movie "Whistle Down The Wind" was for the most part set in. Film Synopsis: When an injured wife murderer takes refuge on a remote Lancashire farm, the owner's three children mistakenly believe him to be the Second Coming of Christ. Malcolm Arnold: Whistle Down the Wind (1961) Main Theme. [Norrie Paramor-Midland Radio Orchestra]. Paul.
  2. Thanks Polly, thanks Geoff. I had the music in mind long before the visiting the chimney... Paul.
  3. Thanks Dee. I asked the owner of the dogs if she minded them featuring, she said "go for it". I got lucky with the kingfisher - such a lovely bird for a British species. Paul.
  4. Thank you both, it's a nice place in summer too. Paul.
  5. Paul

    Jubilee Tower, Darwen

Thanks Dee. I stepped inside the tower but I don't like heights so didn't go up. Paul
  6. Thanks Dee. This is an early attempt but I'm hoping I improve more. Paul.
  7. At a majestic 180 feet, the chimney of the historic Tulketh mill is still a local landmark. The Grade II listed mill is now used as office space and a call centre, but the towering chimney remains, one of Preston's most distinctive landmarks. Paul.
  8. It was worth the effort - even aphids are nice to look at! Paul.
  9. Well done Matt, congrats Paul.

  11. Good shots Geoff - I was reading about the engine a few days before your photos (about the all women crew). Paul.
  12. That's nice Polly Paul.
  13. A lens that is unique - challenging but fun to use! I'm pleased Polly followed my lead in getting one, and now you too have the opportunity to have the same fun with it as we do (I must give mine another outing!) Paul.
  14. Was always gonna win Paul.
  15. Well done Monkey! Paul.

  17. Soon be getting a good size to pose "in the flesh".... Paul.
  18. Thank you both. It's all down to perseverance and practice. Paul.
  19. She was on the cross-member of the garden fence playing hard to get... Paul.
