If you're looking for some inspiration, I can recommend Earls Crag near Cowling (which includes Wainman's Pinnacle and Lund's Tower - known locally as the Salt and Pepper Pots) there's parking close by at Pinnacle View on Buck Stone Lane, just follow the M65 to Colne and Keighley Rd (A6068), at Cowling turn right at Dick Lane and follow it up the hill, then right onto Buck Stone Lane.

Does open up a plethora of possibilities, doesn't it.

It certainly would for someone that had an eye for a view, lol... But my eyes tend see me looking for photos a lot nearer the ground as a rule... 😆

Looks a great place Geoff, but I don't fancy a sharp climb!

Is it easy to get close to for flying?

Yes, it's easy to get too, there's a car park on Buck Stone Lane that's a 5-7 minute flat walk to the crags and Wainman's Pinnacle and then there's a flat path to the other tower.

I'll pen it in for a drive.

Places to drone sort of need to be "inexpensive" to get to, seeing as it's likely that the would only be 2 or 3 minutes worth of decent footage meaning a visit has to be cost effective. I'd hate to drive 59 miles and end up with naff film....

Google Street View doesn't really do it justice

Google maps says it 38 miles from Preston

Lol, luckily the path from the car park is flat I wouldn't want to climb up the rocks  though without ropes etc those rocks are about 100ft high

Check out this post of mine and you can see how high up you are:

Opposite to this is the Hitching Stone, a massive lone boulder, also I couldn't get any closer due to a massive bog/swamp between me (bottom of the frame) and the boulder

It would have to be tomorrow or Tuesday this week.

I'm on a week off from work, but the best of the weather is over the next two days - after that it deteriorates and any of those later days would be an ad hoc decision to go somewhere if the forecast changes from the current outlook...
