A tunnel of textures ...

Thanks Mark ...It's a bit difficult to actually see the path clearly in Mono  with the shadows of the overhead  branches  but it was that and the filigree effect of them against the sky that drew me to take the photo in the first place ...For some reason it reminds me of a book of Grimms fairy tales I had as a child and an illustration in the Hansel and Gretal  story.. They were really sinister  stories when I think about it !!

This is one of those images that work either way I like both.

I didn't have any problem seeing the path in Mono But I look at a lot of mono images. I convert almost every shot I take, weather I save it or not is a different matter 😀 My wife says that  I see in mono,

I see what you mean about the  illustration, when I read that I instantly imagined a small illustration on a page with text surrounding it. I guess I have a vivid imagination.  I also like old books.

I prefer the colour version, Polly.  The autumnal colours really emphasise the tunnel.

I take what you mean about the tree's branches - Maybe a linear gradient mask to emphasise the filigree.

I've taken the liberty to do a mod to show what I mean. 😍

Aw thanks Fogey ...appreciate that.  Do you ever find when processing an image, that  you can finish up with so many variations and sometimes  completely  different  vibes to a single image that you cannot decide on what you  prefer and  sometimes become " kennel blind " to obvious faults  in pursuit of something else ! ... Seem  to me the more choices I have,  the more indecisive I become !🤦‍♀️

I know what you mean Polly.  I have developed a virtual F***k it-bucket where any image that gives me bother ends up in.

That's a hell of an idea a PITA file. I am going to create one so I can go to the challenging ones and beat them into submission when I am in the mood.

I do and  that some times. I get to a point and save it then start playing with it, pushing to see if I like it.
