Alexa Meade is a really innovative artist  who paints in a way that makes 3D collapse into 2D in an amazing and innovative way  It is almost the opposite of Trompe l'oeil painting. She paints people and objects, I mean, she  actually puts paint on people  and objects that renders them as two dimensional and then takes a photo or film of the finished work ...I love the effect and how different this is....

Fooj I think you will love this too .

Gosh .... I am really surprised at your reaction to this Fooj ... ah well  .....just goes to show how wrong one can be .:yes

yes it is messy ...but so uninhibited... I really am fascinated by how it manages to become two dimensional from every angle....a real optical illusion and realised almost by accident . Thanks for taking the time though Fooj

I bet you were wondering if 'that weirdo from the northlands might like it'.

Well, I do - so brilliantly innovative that I had to watch it twice and then I called Lady Korkington away from her morning sherry in order that she could enjoy it, too.

I found the painting of the elderly man (near the end of the video) to be truly beautiful.

Thanks for that one, Mrs C, a superb find.

I was nearly 100% sure that you would really like this Korks ... I am totally bowled over byher work ... it’s just so different and clever and I am so envious of her talent. They call it installation art I suppose but some of the portraits are just breathtaking to me too ...   I wonder if anyone else on the Forum  likes them ... I’m so glad you are as enthusiastic as I am Korks ... half of the joy of discovering something like this is sharing it with someone who feels it too ... so at least we can be kindred weirdos together !! ?

I just love the way she reduces Normal perspective in a 3D environment to 2D  by the use of paint colours ,shades alone ..  the complete opposite of the trompe l’oeil genre where you paint a two dimensional surface to give the impression it has 3.Dimensional depth and perspective ..  real optical illusions in both  types of artistry .. .. I have watched it and similar videos a number of times as I just can’t believe my eyes are deceived so convincingly ... Thanks for all the feedback  folks ..glad you found it of interest ...
