The Weekly Challenge #44 - Bridge related

Weekly Challenge #44 is bridge related - it can be bridge arches, foot bridges or any scenic thing as long as there is a bridge, or something related to bridges in the picture - interpret as you please. Pictures can be old or new and should be submitted from today 30th April, until midnight 6th May. Voting will then take place from then until midnight on Friday, 13th May

The Cambridge Bridge of Sighs came into being because the building of New Court made necessary a second crossing of the River Cam between it and Third Court, and New Court's architect seized the opportunity for some more charming and allusive romanticism. It must be noted, however, that the only real similarity between the Cambridge Bridge of Sighs and its Venetian namesake is that both of them are covered bridges. Today it is part of the main thoroughfare through St Johns College and used daily by those who live and work here ...

It's this sort of entry level that's keeps the comps alive. When there's only 3 or 4 entries it's a bit flat.

On another forum I'm a member of, you pick 3 entries not just one. Seems fairer to me.

I'm not sure how voting for 3 entries can be fairer, why not 5, or 7, or even 12? What happens if we only have 3 entries, which happens quite often?

Yes, only 3 entries would make it more difficult. As for "why 3", that's just the number they chose. It could be 2!
