So lets see where the story goes...

one day while pondering which task to complete..........

he happened to realise he'd run out of custard creams.....

[Phoenix]

so off to the shop he went.....

[Clicker]

... And knowing how serious  the implication was of this error,  he frantically sent text messages to the most famous bakers in the realm, pleading with them to .........

[Korky]

produce a patriotic custard cream with the Queens head on one side and........

[Clicker]

 a profile of Mary Berry on the  other,  giving the public  a real sense of choice ....

[Korky]

Just as he pressed 'send' on his posh phone thingy, Phil looked down to spot a tiny, frozen, half-starved kitten shivering in the doorway.......

two of the top bankers thought producing a patriotic custard cream with the Queens head on one side a great idea but they wanted the other side of the biscuit to have......

never be short of finance again. He picked up the kitten, kissed its tiny, pink nose, hugged it close and declared "I shall call you"...........

it's back to solving this great nation's biscuit crisis. What we need is a great big melting pot, big enough, big enough to take the world and.........

a large helping of nostalgic lyrics....."Maybe Andrew Lloyd Webber could be  persuaded  to compose a new recipe for the new Queenberry bickies."  thought Phil, whilst the kitten with no name helped him muck out the stables ; at this point,a strange thought  crossed Phil's  mind.....

...OMG, he thought. I left the chip pan on!.....

Stuffing the kitten up the front of his jumper, he sprinted to his rusty old Vauxhall Viva, gunned the engine and sped off towards the urban sprawl that is Goole. Accelerating madly, he glanced in his mirror to see.......

...Tim Brooke-Taylor, Bill Oddie, and Graeme Garden, being pursued by a white kitten that was no longer half-starved, nor tiny, but had now grown to the size of...

a Jaguar... ...(or it may have been an VW  in a former life where emissions were not important  ) nevertheless Phil  was in a panic...after all, when the  chips are downbrown, there is only one thing one can do ....  and  that  is ....

Sing! Heartily and lustily, Phil launched into the one song that had given him strength at those moments in his life when courage seemed hard to summon up.....

Two little boys had two little toys - Each had a wooden.......

was it "leg" or "spoon" pondered Phil. His memory was not what it used to be sadly and  the trusty rusty ol' Vauxhall spluttered to a halt through lack of petrol ( yup ...he'd forgotten to fill up at T*sc*s when he bought the chips ) with more than a mile to go and as the Fire engine screamed past him, sirens wailing, he just knew ....

... that he should have bought Alphabites or Smiles - frozen ones would take longer to cook in hot fat and Phil would have had more time on his side.

As it was though, Aldi had banned him from their stores (hence Tesco's) and they were the whole ten yards further away from Phil's semi-detached, mostly in-flame residence and that now meant...

Sandwiches for tea........AGAIN!

Though the  latent heat would probably mean they could be toasted .....and  to be fair, toasted chip butties  could really catch on in parts of Yorkshire where money is ....

Usually buried in biscuit tins in back gardens most often under the Pigeon Loft.....
