Really good photos.

Thats a great set, I like the panning shots showing the movement of the motion gear. It's been a number of years since I saw Sir Nigel, it was in Garter Blue then I think I have some old film shots when it was down at Mid hants

Thats a great pic Fogey, like the water splashes

Good skills there Mark, like the image alot.

Great shots there. The last one the staff member looks like he is on a mission to get a replacement cuppa
-
Good to see it in Colour Rye The buffer beams are a really bright red colour and stand out.

Good set, I do like a blue and slightly cloudy sky in a landscape. -
Good set there. Definitely the last one is the best

Hi Richard, welcome to the forum. Lots of differing types of photography posted here so feel free to put some on for us to enjoy.

We both have 12 gauge shotguns and before the lockdown would go at least once a week.

Yes it is very fine work, Luca the engraver was happy to explain the process. As these were finished guns the metal had already been hardened and treated for rust protection, which makes for a very hard finish to work with and meant considerable sharpening of the tool tip. I'll find some of the buttons we had installed into the stocks of our guns,

Cracking pictures there.

Very good I like that the people have a ghostly appearance to them.

It's around 120 miles round trip for us, and it is not a cheap to travel at signage, they seem to be expecting big numbers as it is booked tickets only even to just go in the platform. Also it is not in steam every day. Besides I'm not a great fan of BR colours and smoke deflectors, as my first memory is seeing it in LNER green in the Hornby catalogue around 1976.

Good to see you out and about and producing good images.

That's a great image there Geoff. The Flying Scotsman is in Swanage for this week. Unfortunately we are going to Bristol.
-
I see what you mean it was the first to stand out for me too.

Geoff, I like the low angle which helps to show the beauty and size of the engine and keeping it in colour works very well. The only one very minor thing is the second lamppost just about to be obscured by the engine. I find this catches my eye and I am drawn to it.

Hi Clicker. Its not a massive place but isn't very photogenic as a whole due to the Herris Fencing that currently surrounds it apart from the actual door way to inside. I don't think either of us took one of the complete building.
-
Interesting set there Rye. No. 3 is my favourite, with the low view point. If No.1 had a steam train running over the viaduct that would have made carjacking shot.

That's a really good shot. Good halo lighting and nice dark clouds.

Had another early morning walk yesterday. This time we visited King John's castle in Odiham. This is near the far end of the navigable Basingstoke Canal. The Castle was built in 1207-1214. Possibly because it was halfway between Windsor and Winchester. It wad used for various means and was at one point captured by the French whom laid siege for 2 weeks and were surprised the garrison was only 13 men. It has been in ruin since 1605. In 1792 the Basingstoke canal was built through the southern Bailey. You cannot get to close to the outer walls as there is temporary fencing in place but you can enter the inside as there is a protected, from falling flint, covering.

B&W suits this one well, although I can't help wondering what it's actual colours are as I haven't heard of the Barking Owl.

A very good pic with good use of colour with the blue flowers
