I sent 'my story', pretty much as I wrote it on here for your reading, to a national magazine.

 

Emailed it yesterday morning, got 3 phone calls today, when I was out of area and mobile contact. Contacted the number left for me, had a 5 minute conversation, and the lady said she was going to discuss it with the Editor in Chief of the mag. and would contact me in a couple of days. 3 minutes later I got the call!!

 

Yes, it's going to be published - and it will provide me with a very nice pocket money boost for my upcoming trip

Brian - 'That's Life' - which I consider to be an absolutely cr*p sensationalist magazine, (but has a phenomenally huge buying/reading population), and was the first one I thought of, and very easy to contact. Just did it to see what would happen, and didn't expect the quick response.

 

Don't know how it's going to go as yet. Got 2 phone calls yesterday, and it looks like they want to include it in this week's mag. I have a telephone interview appointment with someone on Tuesday arvo, (our time), who apparently takes lots of detail then she 'writes it up', so I don't even know if they are actually going to use my words as provided. 

 

However - I will get a very nice cheque in the mail as soon as it is published, and that will actually pay for my hire car, and generous pocket money for my upcoming trip, so I'll run with it whatever.

 

Interestingly enough it is still my story, and once published I am perfectly free to share it with other publishers - we'll see.

 

Sorry if I'm not around too much just now, this is taking a bit of my time. Today I have to find and scan some old photos of me with my adoptive parents, and a few others.

Been a  busy day for emails and phone calls today. Looks like the story is now going to be published in a UK magazine - don't know which one as yet, but more 'pocket money' for the trip. And, on Friday arvo I'm going to be telling the story on a major Melbourne radio station!!!!!

 

Boy, has this story taken off!!!

Great news all round Kobione, cant wait to read it when you tell us which UK Magazine......the one you posted pics of looks great.

As you know, I will be out of action for some weeks after my eye surgery tomorrow, so, sadly, our possible meeting will have to be put on hold :-(
