Sometimes the background feels like it deserves more attention ....

Experimenting with  my latest lens (my Laowa wide angle macro ) as I didn't have   much spare time  last year with family  and health issues taking priority but I hope to rectify that  this year  with the advent of  warmer  ( hopefully ) Spring  weather  on the horizon ... This was  taken down by the pond... remnants of  a desiccated  hydrangea flower from last summer  but  the background  seems to  be vying for attention too in this pic !😉

I agree, sometimes a bit smaller aperture works wonders. Lone the image,Polly. It seems that a lot of people have had health issues in the last year.

It  suits me  though Paul as I have never been one for counting the actual hairs on the legs of  a bee or a spider ... ( though I appreciate the skills of those who do ...like  you 😉) I feel lucky if   get close enough to  see all a subjects' legs !!  But you are right .... The subject would have run , flown or jumped  away  long before  you could get this lens close enough for   your real Macro  shots . It's a  lens that does just what I want to try  to achieve  with creamy  bokeh backgrounds  to  individual flower  studies  and  hopefully butterflies and  bees  later in the year ...🤞
