The Rea Valley Cycle Route and the Birmingham Grid

Recommended Posts

Further to the post by Rybear and Pollys subsequent comments, this is the Birmingham Grid "In search of Urban Happiness" result from my point of view.  There are maybe 40 photographers in Birmingham and the same number in Halifax doing it. We choose a particular road or path and take up to 8 images of it and then also submit a story or prose relating to the path. We all have a grid area to work within so the resulting exhibition and web site will cover a huge amount of Birmingham

This is the Rea Valley Cycle Route which runs from near Birmingham city centre through eventually to Waseley Country Park over by the M5. It runs through parks, canal paths and some roads on its way

I think it certainly is food for thought as a theme we could utilise  for a project that many of us could participate in .. We  could  choose a particular route , walk , or drive  where we  could   use pictorial milestones   with  a   map route  to show where it is geographically to describe the timeline .

That's a nice walk Strav... Maybe nice to show us the difference in the Summer season ..

In fact  that might be another idea ... To do a FOUR SEASONS  thread where we take a photo or photos in a particular place and return to the SAME spot at different times of the year  ( obviously local would be best )  to   show the changes .....  Any thoughts ?

Anything that gets people out with their cameras is good.

In our camera club they are suggesting people take on a project of some kind, giving you a sense of purpose with your photography
