In the 1st Image, was there a party lol, pic right lots of People, It does lack a focal point, Landscape is sometimes hard to get right, Image 2 reads much better, but lacks that punch, possibly just in some post processing, Image 2 for me I could spend days there getting the image right, Really an Interesting place to togg :-)

Lol, no just lots of people walking on the beach, I was more focused on the colours of the sea, sand and sky and the way that it led to the people in the distance, so there was a focal point that you noticed..

I could too, but unless it's basically on your doorstep you have to take what you get, I had 2-3 hours before going to Lindisfarne.

Yes I  am more drawn to the castle image too… I do like to see a portrait format occasionally for a landscape subject and  the colours help define a perspective on the first image though I have to admit to finding the people pulling my eye out to the right a bit distracting, however the Castle  is a  real beauty  for me … The processing and the composition has a definite painterly feel  to it … a memorable image for me Rye ….
