Old market?

Had this RAW on my hard drive since 2014.  Can't remember where it was now, but I think it's somewhere in Devon.  I remember walking past this as I strolling through a town.  Just thought it made a nice image but never really knew what to do with it.

It's great to wade through old pics and find something  that  you remember caught your eye at the time ... some pleasing symmetry there Matt  ...

Can't help wondering if possibly  it's one of those images where a  distant solitary  figure might ....  just might  have added  something to it ....   (Not sure, I must say  but the thought did cross my mind ).... as   occasionally a figure can add to an image and not diminish it ... Love the processing and tonal values .. I do like  it .

A great photo Matt,Just intrigues me as to the location, so I had a google search of covered market halls in Devon. It appears to be the Pannier Market in Barnstaple.

Yup, that's the place.....don't recall walking around Barnstaple though!? 😉

Edit...checked the date...it coincides with some holiday snaps when I was staying in Torrington, not far down the road...makes more sense now. 😀

I think the figure helps  but maybe  too  indistinct  in the tone of his clothing ... and possibly astatic figure  is not as helpful as something that  is moving ...  just   floating ideas here as I really do like the original image  .. Maybe  like a long exposure  of a blurred figure walking diagonally across toward an open archway ...   or silhouettes of 5 or 6 birds/ pigeons    being disturbed and  heading  out into the open ...I think it 's worth playing with anyway ... and from what I can see  your photoshopping looks  believeable  Matt !  Perspective looks good and  he doesn't look out of place at all ...
