Spiderlings

Recommended Posts

Just found some spiderlings on the concrete post of the garden fence - these are young orb web spiders.

It's a tragedy that the S20 series doesn't have a macro lens or dedicated function (other than zooming in, which is an awful way of getting close ups) - the quality of macro suffers greatly.

I have edited this in Lightroom & Photoshop.

Nicely caught Paul, they look kinda abstract.

Have you thought about using a clip-on macro lens? Apexel does a 100mm macro for £34, so won't break the bank....

I tried one of those multi lens jobbies off Amazon which had a 15x macro lens in it but the thing was tiny and was not easy to use so it's gone back...

Wasn't aware of the one you suggest.

It does seem to get good reviews on Amazon and seems to be quite large compared to the phone width, according to the blurb focuses between 40-70mm

I assume the one you mean is this one

Yes, that was the one I looked at...

It's a pity that you don't have a Canon DSLR body lying around as I have a Laowa 60mm f2.8 just sitting in a box gathering dust that you could borrow.

These are really good for a phone camera Paul !

Thank you Denis.

Phone photos are just as hard as DSLR photos to take sometimes, the main disadvantage being prints are poorer, but the upside is we always have our phones nowadays for all the opportunities. For web pages though, resolution is usually good enough to view them online.

Paul.
