Gilston Park House

That appears  to still  have a vestige of colour in it  on my iPad at least Denis ... what a lovely building and setting too and a very nicely processed sky  makes this a really pleasing image. I shall have to google the building it as I don’t know it at all !

Thanks Clicks,

You wont find a lot apart from marketing websites selling homes that have not been built yet!

The Gilston Park Estate was is a unique place in my eyes, This grand house, now posh apartments, replaced the original Tudor one in the 1850's, was home to a famous family before becoming a medical research HQ, the estate was a deer park and surrounded by miles of metal rail fencing. Its own farms Netherhall and Overhall farms. Farm workers houses were all built in a lovely lodge style with steep pitched roofs. The whole estate is going to be built on to the tune of 10000 houses, most of which will probably not be for local residents but attract even more londoners who will use the nearby rail link to the City :(

I read all that  Denis with a tinge of sadness when I googled it ... still it's probably better that it is being lived in and maintained albeit in many apartments rather than  go to   the alternative of becoming too expensive for a family to keep it and becoming derelict  if the National Trust or English Heritage don't acquire  it ...  Sadly Witley Court  a couple of miles from me  had a damaging fire  and never recovered and is now just a skeleton of a shell of what was once a magnificent place..... if anyone is ever in the area it is worth a visit  especially the church next to it  which isn't under English Heritage  and is free to visit !... sorry DEN ...  off topic a bit there !
