What Do You See?

Now that's odd. The email notification I received for this topic showed an image with a circle containing 3 symbols, one of which was an elongated diamond, view the topic on the forum and all I see is a red square.

That means your browser is colour managing differently to your OS and is overriding your colour settings.

My iPhone and iMac show the graphics but Ang's older iPad Air doesn't nor does the boys laptops which have basic screens in them.

Just a red square on my iPad Pro.

FUJI

Which is odd because the Pro has a DCI-P3 screen - but it can detect images with the higher gamut and will switch between DCI-P3 and sRGB to keep things accurate. I wonder if the forum is mucking about with the tags?

Fuji can you try again from the original link: http://appleinsider.com/articles/16/09/09/apples-wide-color-screen-on-the-iphone-7-will-lead-to-more-faithful-color-reproduction

Clear browser / display program issue here: Viewed in the forum using Vivaldi -- nada even in view full size.

Download and open in gwenview -- clear as day.

Open in gimp -- offers to convert colour space (to gimp sRGB) -- if I accept the pattern shows momentarily and then vanishes, if I decline it never shows.

I'm running this on a few forums as its getting confusing - however - if you can't see it then that particular display might not be giving you an accurate view of the colours from your camera so your editing could be askew. Also some browsers are managing colours in very peculiar ways. They are either suppressing colours that you should be able to see or inventing some that you shouldn't be able to view.

I'll get back if I get some more solid info.

I can only see a red square in Safari. So I dragged it into Photoshop CS6 and exactly the same - a red square. I then did Select All, & Levels, and dragged the shadows slider all the way right. Towards the end of the range a design in black suddenly appeared - a circle with a kind of compass needle surrounded by a strange broken 4-point design. It wasn't vague or fuzzy - it was very very clear, very bold, clean and yet only showed when the Levels were adjusted dramatically.

ETA: iPhoto shows only a ghost of the design if the exposure is either increased or decreased, but nothing in the middle; Preview just crashes when I try to open the Adjust Colour.. tool; Elements 6 moaned about it being a 16-bit image which isn't supported but gave me the chance to convert to 8-bit, which I did - then the result was exactly the same as in CS6, the design appeared sharp and black when Levels were adjusted.
