The Weekly Challenge #49 - Panning - Voting Closed

Weekly Challenge #49 is Panning - doesn't matter what is passing in front of you just swing the camera and take a shot. We're looking for a nice blurred background and a good sense of speed - interpret as you please.
Pictures can be old or new and should be submitted from today 5th June, until midnight 1tth June. Voting will then take place from then until midnight on Friday, 17th June.

I didn't think I'd get one for this weeks challange and thought for the first time in 49 weeks I might not actually have an image. The only one I thought I had was one of the Flying Scotsman, but I'd already used that for a previous Weekly Challeneg - Motion, so this was the only other that really fit the bill. It was taken a few weeks back of a Heron Flying, I was follwing and panning.....

Great shot, Rye. It really shows the profile of the wing and a good illustration of how a wing works..

It does, but I also missed focus on the eye and missed the end of the bird........

You're probably right, Chris. The bird had almost stopped when I took the shot.

Incidentally, that water is crocodile infested and there were signs everywhere telling you not to get out of your car. We were on a causeway which went through the wetlands with water on both sides.

I have no idea? I have had this in the past with a few images posted here from Flickr. The link gets corrupted possibly? Either way, your shot is a belter.
