The Beach Tree.

There is a tendency for people to leave things by monuments and beauty spots to show they were there. I have seen painted stones and pebbles by War Memorials, padlocks engraved with names and locked to railings in cities and on bridges, especially Sydney Harbour Bridge.

While walking the Shingle spit out to the old Napoleonic Fort at Hurst Point a few days ago we came across this washed up Branch of a tree that people has decorated with shells,  bits of old rope, discarded plastic items and old bits of fishing line and nets. We found a small flintstone with a perfect hole through it and we hung it via a piece of washed up rope twine.

We left our mark !

Interesting, this seems to be a fairly recent trend, around Wycoller there are several fairy doors, the bridge at Bakewell had lots of padlocks, Ingleton Falls has a money tree were coins have been hammered into a tree stump, the oddest one I came across was during lockdown and a walk on the Leeds to Liverpool Canal, it was a discarded shoe tree....
