Good use of light on the left with the dark clouds on their way in.

This old Britool box belonged to my late farther in law as did some of the tools inside, the slightly rusty ones were his as some of these were left on the garage for quite a few years.
-
I brought this Weston Master V earlier this year in great condition complete with box instructions and invercone So thought I would have play takin some close ups with the light box.which we also brought this year and we are getting used to using.

Great photos Paul. Would have had a couple of giant house spider photos but Hazel was not impressed with my idea and they had to be evicted out pretty quickly.

Quite like that concept Mark. Back lighting makes the front very dark and I had to look to make sure it was a nut on a stud or bolt. When viewed on my phone.

Went out for an afternoon walk on Sunday. So I could use my new tripod, always food to have new kit. Took this one as in a close up and a bit of post production enlargement. Ironically this was hand held with fill flash! Works better in b&w than colour I think.

A recent trip down to Swanage for the early afternoon/evening in August. To see the Brother in Law and family Should really have taken the tripod as only had the monopod with me.

We had a storm each night for the last 2. So had plenty of rain in Hampshire. Probably not enough really to make much difference to the river levels etc. Andy

I like the first one there Mark. Great set though.

The second one reminds me of a house garage door where my wife grew up had the Rolling Stones Lips Logo on it. -
Here a few from Dartmouth in Devon. The first is a view from the fort in Dartmouth town looking out towards the English Channel Looking towards Kingsmere. Some lovely colourful houses making up the back drop. This one was taken by Hazel using my camera. One of the small fishing boats. Taken from the passenger ferry landing stage. This one was the most photogragjic, to my mind of the small boats tied up. So just had to take it. This one I liked the composition which makes it look like I could be on another boat. When on fact I am on the landing stage.

I know what you mean about the long journey, we have been to Australia twice now and the first time was with Japan Airlines so flew in to Tokyo where we were lucky with only a 3 hour wait for the flight to Cairns. In total I think the journey was 22 hours travel. On the way back we overnights in Japan. The second time we went with Cathay Pacific so flew into Hong Kong. Then had 6 hours wait at the airport, before flying to Brisbane again around 22 hours. On the way back we stayed for a few days in Hong Kong, which was a very interesting place to visit.

Cracking images there. A country that I would like to visit. Andy

These were taken on my phone around 4 to 5 years ago now. When we were visiting a gunsmiths in Shrewsbury. This is done by hand using an engraver much like a small dremal. The gold is undercut and hammered into place to stop it falling out. I understand that these were part of series of engravings on at least 2 shotguns for a client.

Love the eyes, but earwigs make me shudder...

Good photos Paul. I have often wondered where their name came from as they certainly arn't wearing a wig -
Its good to see engines running even if the track is not very long.

A few more. Due to the bank, which has the picnic and play area on it behind the platform I was able to get this directly in line. This one below from the relocated bridge from Kings Cross Station It didn't't fit in with the remodelling of Kings Cross so was moved to Ropley. It weighs around 200 tonnes

Bank Holiday Monday visit to The Mid Hants Railway Ropley Station. Whilst being a bit restricted by Barriers you can still find plenty to photograph. There was 2 trains operating a Diesel hauled passenger and a Steam hauled passenger.
-
Whilst at Ropley on the Mid Hants. Poor old Thomas is awaiting some new under wear. His undercarriage/boiler is currently in the workshop workshop having repairs undertaken. The workshop viewing gallery was very dark and not good to see through to be honest.

Thank you. I prefer no 3 myself which, which is my desktop screen.

I like this one. Great atmosphere with the fog. I wouldn't want to try that on our main lines as they are electrified!

Great set there Rye. From the title I thought you might have been to a narrow gauge railway
