  1. Oh very sorry, everyone, i changed my mind and didn’t realise I’d hit the post button. I want it to be complimentary colours. Do I need to delete the other one? It’s midnight here & I just got home.
  2. The theme for the next weekly challenge is "Complimentary Colours": Blue & Orange; or Red and Green; or Purple and Yellow. As usual, a photo from your archives or one taken just for the challenge. This challenge will end at midnight on Friday 26 October.
  3. I went to the cemetery yesterday to photograph the Rainbow Bee-Eaters who arrive in Spring. I'll post the photos in Nature and wildlife later. While I was there I found this large coffee jar of red roses on the grave of the man that used to grade the road when I was young and took lots of photos with the aim of adding a texture for this week's theme. I'm a learner when it comes to textures. for this picture I added a texture of some sandstone that is very common here.
  4. Yorta Yorta are one of the indigenous groups from this part of the Murray River and north. The didgeridoo and Clapping sticks were made by a local member of this group. I understand these were used by the men in traditional ceremonies.
  5. Didgeridoo and clapsticks. I agreed take some photos for my workplace's Annual Report ( in a weak moment) that included an image of these objects made by a local Yorta Yorta artist.
  6. Congratulations, Korky. Such a variety of interpretations on this theme.
  7. This raven has been hanging around my yard for over a year. The lack of black feathers on the back of its head gives it a strange profile and enables easy identification: a rare thing with ravens. I believe it is nesting - its Spring here in Australia - and I hope to get some photos of the offspring.
  8. "Rustic garlic" I had a bumper crop of garlic last summer including this powerful purple variety.
  9. Missed the cut off by 2 minutes. I got distracted from uploading my entry by BIll's amazing portrait.
  10. Lots of great images here: I’m struggling to decide which one to vote for.
  11. Running the guantlet. Work and family commitments imposed on my photography this week (how dare they?) so it’s an iPhone photo. Took this at the carnival in our town this week as part of White Night.
  12. Congratulations Korky. And thank you Clicker for closing the voting.
  13. Thank you for appreciating my intention in taking the photo, Korky. I’m glad I joined the 52 wk challenge because it forces, I should say “encourages” me to engage in some photography every week. This is enriching of my life and good for my photography skills. John is 80 & still farming. His wife died recently and he’s still driving his ute to feed his cattle. Stoic.
