I have several like that. I notice with me it depends on the mood, sometimes  l like the colored version and other times I like the mono better. very nice image though.

Genuinely can't make a decision on that! I love the colour version, scrolled down and instantly thought "Ooh, no I definitely prefer the colour one", scrolled back up and thought "Ooh, no actually I prefer the mono".

They're both fab!

Thanks Fogey … I had a great week on  the Gower … only had one day, Friday, where the weather prevented us from walking… it rained ALL day…..But apart  from that I walked for an average of 6-7 miles  every day taking photos . The Gower has to be one of my favourite places  though parts of Scotland come a very close second ….

I'm currently thinking about revamping the site.  I'm working on a slider for the landing page that is made up from slides that link to sliders showing different genres of photography.

I can't decide whether or not I should keep it simple or go for the elaborate.

Thinking about your OP.  I think I prefer the colour version........ the monochrome, to me, appears too bland.  I think a little structure to the tones would be of benefit.  Just my thoughts.

I know what you mean Fogey ...I did a few versions  of this  and in some of the mono versions the sky started to appear a bit artificial but i do take your point ...  the fencing was a beautiful textured  almost driftwood  appearance and  i was  making that the focus so I will  post some of the other  versions to see what  you think ... appreciate your  input as always Fogey

Hmmm!  Both are much punchier.........The first, I think.

The second seems a little overdone.

You could, of course, get the effect you want with masking in ACR.

i love the mono version....that fence has been there for a lot of years ..it does have a lovely texture
