I especially like in #6 that you can't tell whether the OOF main part of the picture is caused by shallow DOF or by engine smoke. I also love the detail on the derelict wooden carriages in ... um ... #2, was it?

I won't tell you which it is in #6... Photo's with mystery can be so enjoyable...

Love the textures in #2

the lighting in #3...view large

the humour and the rust in #11 ;)

Some wag with chalk did us all a favour on the old kettle.

No HDR at all by the way, even in number 2.

And the interior of an old Pulman carriage. yeah, I had to do a lot of teasing to make that work - and I think it has worked really well.

Cheers guys.

Paul.

Quite a variety of subjects within a subject and you caught some excellent pictures. Like others, I particularly like the textures and run-down look of #2 but I also like the before-and-after effect of #11 and #12 even though they are totally different engines.

Like Wallace and Gromit......you enjoyed a great day out, lots to do and lots to see.

I like the rust and decay too.........you have also recorded a good selection of your experiences beautifully......... it looks the kind of place where, a whole day needs to be dedicated to working out best shooting points.

It reminds me, of a rare day at a Zoo recently, I spent it running about ( me running;-) capturing what I could whilst balancing being with friends and a wonderful lunch. If I get chance to return, I will be able to plan my day better, because I know the layout and the pitfalls of attempting to shoot through plate glass, or in the steamy tropical atmosphere of the special Ape Houses.

Just like BPs 36 shot challenge, I have begun to force myself to not just point and shoot, as far as possible each shot is quickly framed in - camera ........not always as easy as you think.
