Looked out of the backdoor yesterday and saw the usual 14 or 15 kangaroos down the block. Then, amongst them I noticed this guy:

This is Arnie, (you can see why we call him that, with muscles like that), our dominant male! This means it's tail scratching time again, and we will have to watch out for him when we take the girls a walk.

Not the most brilliant picture quality, I know, and the wire fence behind him is a bit distracting. He was a good 200 metres away, but that was close enough, I got the message - stay away from MY girls!!

Thanks both. Tina this guy is over 8ft tall when he stands up on his back legs, so pretty impressive! I'm hoping that I MIGHT have the opportunity for more 'boxing' shots, although, once again, they will be from quite a distance.

Korky, we live in their territory, not the other way around - at least that's how we consider it. To see these animals, and the reptiles the way Nature made them, and not through fences, glass, or from a hide, is such a privilege.

Thanks, both. John it's the hind legs you have to watch out for. There have been several instances already this season of dogs being killed by one swipe of the back foot. Our regular 'roos are used to us, and don't move away in a panic when they see us walking on the block, they just watch, but we are careful not to let the girls out of our sight when out there, at this time of the year.

Thank you, Paul. We see these creature on a daily basis, and as such, we are very used to that, but, as already mentioned we really do consider it a privilege. They are quite wary, so most shots I get are from a good distance and not necessarily the best quality, but I know most people on here enjoy the 'novelty value'. :D
