As some members are aware I have a bit of an issue at home. As today was D-Day I took myself off for a few hours and found myself at the local flying club. For anyone interested it's the Real Aeroplane Company.

Please don't ask me to name the models  :innocent:  but I'm happy to take advice :yes

I'm not a keen flyer, but have always loved aircraft, since I was a kid during the War, even though many weren't flown by friendly folk.

.I particularly like vintage aircraft.....during the 1950s and 1960s I used to be a regular attendee at the local.....BAGINGTON AIRSHOW and KINGS CUP AIR RACE.......a heady mix of ancient pre- war and wartime propeller jobs mixed with all the latest, and first time seen jet fighters and bombers, many famous planes were made locally too.....the Vampire and Meteor jets were a familiar sught.

The excitement used to build just prior to the start of the Kings Cup Air Race......a complete mix of plane types flown by totally mad ex wartime pilots, who took great risks right over over heads to do tight, frightening turns at the airfield pylons, the race was handicapped so slaw flying Tiger Moth types would start fifteen minutes before the fastest ....it was exciting furious fun but bloody dangerous.

Thanks for the memories Phil, you took me back to my teenage years and a little later.

Great pics all.....love the blue plane.

1st pic is a Zlin in front of a MH1521 Broussard

The little blue chap is an Aeronca 100, I believe it was built in 1936 and goes by the name of 'Jeeves'

Black and yellow one is a Zlin 226T

White with gold and black stripes looks like a PA28. typical PPL club  trainer,

Not sure of the last one, has the lines of a Miles type or maybe a proctor?
