A Slice Of Your Life 21/05/18 - 27/05/18

Recommended Posts

Not a lot happening for me today, spent the first half in bed after a night shift and the rest of the afternoon trying to figure out how to overcome the Flickr linking problem.

So, this from me today. 10 days ago I planted a wisteria, hoping it will eventually give us some separation from the neighbours. I'm taking a picture a day during the growing season, if only to convince myself that I don't kill every plant I touch
Trouble is, I'm clueless as to what to do now, does it need pruning or do I just leave it to get on with it?

Mine is a very late slice of life as I was working all day and didn't go out with my camera until 17:30pm, I spent about 45 mins bug hunting at Springwood Whalley and then went to bird watching at the weir at Whalley as I was interested in seeing if the Crows were there fishing again and at least one was.

Anyway today I saw two new things I haven't photographed before:

Click Beetle - possibly Athous haemorrhoidalis - I've never seen this beetle before

And a Dipper - I see loads of them but they're always to far away and too brief...

It's always a good day when you photograph or see something new.....

Did another little cruise out today. Stopped off to walk the girls in our equivalent of your bluebell wood:

Went to Dunnolly to grab a lunch and I tried a new pie - Cauli, Broocoli & Cheese. Was very nice.:

My evening down at Whalley, today I thought I'd post some of the views....

The White House by the River

The Weir on the River Calder, Whalley. The building in the background is a hydro plant powered by an Archimedean Screw.

You're getting better weather than us - grey, cold and damp here

Out again for a little while today, sat and had a coffee at a nice quiet spot:

We just got one intruder that knocked on the windscreen to come in and share the cake:

Did have a couple more to post but Photobucket is being very awkward and won't let me in.

I didn't get out yesterday (Friday as it rained most of the day), but today was lovely for the 1940' Weekend on the ELR. I must admit I was a bit disappointed with most of my images from today, but these sorta sumed the day up...

Restricted to home today, but the day started off with a nice 'dramatic' sunrise:

Then the day turned in to a 'cooking day', a dozen nice muffins for David, so the freezer is stocked up for him:

A beef and veggie stockpot for Kelly & Brodie:

And then I saw two lovely Eastern Rosellas playing on the soil piles we have our the back at the moment:

Nice finish to the afternoon, all I have to do now is cook tea.

Jumping back to this week briefly.

I've had a good few days at work (hence my absence), thankfully we avoided the rain that plagued much of the country, in fact, apart from a brief shower last Friday, we've had no rain at all. This is how our days have looked:
