I'm hoping  a Merlin that visited this morning and sat on the  roof of hubbie's car, comes back again... Never seen one in the wild before  but a stunning looking  raptor ... Fingers crossed  ...

A superb prize winner of a shot Roger......I love to study the way birds use their natural flying surfaces for control.....this is plainly in view here.....wingtips curling upwards and the tail down and at full fan to help maintain a hover or a slow down...

Yeah .. I was taken aback   too Roger .... at first we thought it was a Kestrel by the silhouette  but the colour was just a lovely blue grey  .. all the garden birds scarpered when it turned up ... unsurprisingly ..
