On Boarding

That's the name of the training I'm currently involved with. It entailed an early start and a blizzard infested drive to Wakefield this morning (which was nice) then a day in a classroom 'learning' stuff.

Tonight I'm in a Premier Inn on an industrial estate with a pig farm outside of my window. To be fair to the pig farm I don't think it's in use or at least I can't smell the occupants and it was dramatically lit enough to warrant a quick picture.

Dinner tonight, as much breakfast as I can stuff down my throat in the morning, another day of learning stuff then I get to go home.

The question is do I have soft pillows or hard pillows.....or both?

The pig farm does look rather abandonned, BP, but interesting. Take care on the roads, we are seeing lots of pictures of the conditions over there. Hope your training session will be worth it!

Looking at the top shot it's hard to imagine it is taken from the window of a recently built hotel, it could be in the middle of the Wolds.

Heh heh..what a view from a hotel window eh? I would say a poultry unit rather than pigs judging by the silo and the ventilation units on the walls.

 

I love training days........not!..... all HGV drivers have to attend 35 hours of 'training' now just to keep your vocational licence.

Its called the DCPC and without it after 2014 your HGV is worthless.

 

I suppose I need training to do my job after 38 years of holding a HGV1

Chickens - my eggs should be nice and fresh when I go down for breakfast then.

Been a bit more snow overnight. The hotel is only 5 mins from the city centre so should be a bad drive so long as it holds off for heading home tonight.
