POTW is a bit of fun as well as a bit of responsibility that makes you pay a little more attention to what is posted than normal so you make the right (in your own mind) choice.

This week one image stood out - actually it jumped out - because it is not just a lovely image its a bit unusual. I love sunsets and sunrises when they including something interesting. I love a bit of water in a shot, I live by the sea after all. I love when photographers don't just walk into a scene and take a picture. I love the unusual and the quirky.

I love this shot and I love that I have had the choice to give it another airing...

Fire and Water.jpg

Take out the jetty and it is still great image with emotional grab and colour galore but that inclusion makes you stop - think - look more carefully - wonder what else is there - think about the composition - its changes the shot and I love it.

Colin I in in awe of this and it absolutely deserves to win.

Thank you BP for choosing this picture of mine and thank you very much for your very kind wording.

This is the harbour at Corralejo on Furteventura, a love it or hate it place that my wife and I try to spend at least a couple of weeks at each year. If you ever plan to go let me know. And thanks again for all the comments in the original thread.
