Innerleithen A bit of local history

IMG_1910.jpg

This hill is crowned by the remains of an iron age hillfort which is marked by the two lines of ramparts and the sites of several circular houses within. This site was the homestead of a farming community about 2000 years ago.
Seven stone cairns arranged to outline an iron age house depict aspects of the history of the district.
Excellent views of the Tweed Valley from this viewpoint, weather permitting.

Another week ends and another week begins. Clever how one follows on after the other innit?

Two awards today..... If Colin can do it, I can do it.

Dee gets a big thumbs-up for trying out the texturisification process. Great subject - just the kind of place I could frequent.

Kudos goes to Frau Klik just for posting four days early. A small parcel of fairy dust will be delivered by the same handsome and uniformed courier that I used last time. I understand that you and Dwight had a right old chinwag in the gazebo and he ended up four hours behind with his parcels

Onwards and upwards my little chocolate fingers!
