I saw a Blue or Great Tit doing the same today and failed to even get the camera out of the bag before flying away. Is that a female Blackbird, it looks a bit more browny than the males...? They're normally quite shy birds who hate the limelight, so nice image of one.

Great shot Oly - we have a few blackbirds and starlings that use our bird bath regularly I'm trying to get them used to me in the garden so I can get some shots like this.
