Hi all

I am looking forward to becoming an active member of this group.

I retired 3 years ago and was very lucky to receive an EOS 7D as a leaving gift, after a lot of problems with it, I was upgraded to a EOS 5D Mk3.

I really like this camera.

I only took to serious photography about 18 months ago and to be honest I have struggled to find a site that will give constructive critiques.

I post on Flickr and G+ under "Mike Blythe".... and also signed up to a on-line photography course.

We received topics on a weekly basis and posted on the course site for critique and comment.

Unfortunately most comments were "Good Job or Great Shot"....not exactly helpful to me.

As a newbie, I definitely have problems with composition and over processing my photos, as well as many other things.

I tend to enjoy Landscape and Seascape photography but I just love learning the art of photography.

I hope that I can receive as well as giving advice from you all.

Best Regards

Mike

Hi Mike, and welcome.  :smiling:
People on here are very kind and will help you as much as they can. They don't criticize in an abrupt way but there are many with lots of experience who will go out of their way to explain things that you don't understand.
I learn from the people on here who have a lot more experience than I have, so don't be frightened to ask questions, however trivial they may seem to you.

Hi, Mike,

A very warm welcome to the TIPF Community.........post your pics here and you will receive honest comments and constructive critisism, usually interspersed with chat, banter, puns and laughter.

Just don't post any pics with Milky Water or lone Yourkshire Moors trees. ;-). (Only joking)

Allo Mike and welcome.

Sorry you did not get on with the 7d. Love mine to bits!   :)

Hi kev7d

I also liked the 7D but I had problems with the shutter jamming, it went back to Canon a couple of times and eventually they offered me the 5D as a form of compensation.

The 5D is a little heavy for me but I get by.

Cheers

Hi Mike

The 5D Mk 3 is a super tool, I look forward to seeing your work and having a chance to tear it to bits make constructive comment :fun:

Cheers Bill

Looking forward to posting a few, just trying to figure out how to post correctly.

Loved your comments above.

Whyaye Mike - Welcome to the forums! "If you can't do it yourself, criticise..." - that's me  so you'll get plenty of feedback. (Yes, I'm in the "anti milk-water" school too - Fuji's says he's joking, but really he's not  )

Love your comment "Bonny Lad".

Cheers
