Thanks Gareth, I can't believe you've not seen one, they are pretty common on rivers and canals.

Out walking with a friend a couple of years ago, we dropped into a hide and the first thing we spotted was a kingfisher. Hell's bells they move fast.

So with that in mind, a big thumbs-up from me for both images.

I have  never seen one properly , just a blue flash twice, and I ve walked up and down the Severn banks for the last 25 years .... :no I would have been pleased to have that one in my library Rye ..

Thanks Korky, yes they do move pretty rapid, this one had been flying up and down the river.

Thanks Clicker yes same here, I've seen them many times flying down various rivers, but this was the first time I've seen/photographed one perched closeup...
