A question here guys - I was going to purchase the Photoshop/Lightroom on the current monthly plan today. Just thinking is it worth waiting for the updates to settle? I am in no hurry another week or so won't make any difference to purchasing it.

*24 FOOD Whilst on holiday the Macmillian Cancer Support Coffee Morning took place and our friends managed to raise a small sum of £230+ pounds. I couldn't resist taking a couple of samples for this 'Cake by the Ocean' shot. -
Nice choice Kev, cracking shot Paul.

Maybe we should have changed this to 'set of the week' as they are all so good... great choice Dee and well shot BP.

Interesting medium Fuji, but I have to say I much prefer the watercolour where your talent looks so more 'alive'. -
Nice but I'm not quite sure I could handle the choice of car hire :-)

Just to let you know I will have to give it a miss, we are heading out of the UK in a few weeks and don't get back until the 5th October, so the 7th would be a bit tight. -

A bit of a mix around the site this week but I plummed for this little shot from BP. A story in a shot - one boy and an insect, a picture taken with just enough DOF to make the bug stand out from what would otherwise be a very distracting background. original thread HERE

POTW - I almost chose 'City Gent' by Geoff for having the cheek to ask for a picture. Then sanity returned and I thought this picture by Stravinsky shows the benefits of getting out there just before sunset. A pleasing shot showing off his favourite city which makes me curious regarding the polluting smoke from the chimneys on the barges and how this fits in with modern planning laws? original thread HERE

colinb replied to Denis's topic in The Weekly Challenge
I make no apologies for entering this picture, yes it is an old one (from the frosts of 2010) but it has always been one of my favourite shots and any excuse is a good excuse to get it out the box. Cold Water -

Denis - my photo is not listed as I posted as an example and I would not wish to win a challenge that I set up. -
Well that was a nice surprise, thank you all who voted for me.

Well what can I say other than 'amazpics' A wonderful set that shows people just being 'people' a diverse collection of characters out for a day (including the Market shots). I only wish I could have been there on the bridge taking a picture of the guys taking a picture of you taking a picture of them

This weeks challenge is called "The Colours of the Night' Night time can bring a wealth of changes in light and colour, light reflecting off water, cars and buildings. I'm not looking for neon lite landscapes but night time beauty in the area around you maybe as in my example an old building that during the day is seldom noticed but at night might stand out from its surroundings. Perhaps not an easy challege but hopefully you may see things not noticed before. Old or new pictures are acceptable and the challenge will be open to entries from now until midnight 16th June, when voting will commence shortly after.
