  1. Yeah! Twiddle 'em, twist 'em or leave 'em just as they are. A bumper crop of entries would be fantastic! Korky
  2. Thought I'd go for an open theme for this weeks challenge. Two reasons....... 1 - I'm a bit rubbish at coming up with themes and I've spent all morning trying to think o' summat and failed miserably. 2 - I thought a free-for-all might encourage more people to join in by having a week when you can post owt ya got. Go for it and show us yer finest! All entries to be posted by midnight GMT on Friday 22nd February and then we'll have a vote to pick a winner. Images can be shot for the contest or be from your archives. Entirely up to you! Korky

    POTW - w/e 10/02/19

I'd quite forgotten just how tricky choosing POTW can be. Especially when there is such a superb crop of images as there has been over the last seven days. Johntwo's 'Lindisfarne Boat Hulls' gets a very honourable mention for its superb processing. Longman's 'Misty Morning Sunrise' gets likewise - beautifully atmospheric, beautifully processed. RogerW's 'Nuthatch' shots also get a massive thumbs-up, as do NikonMikes' swan images. Top stuff! They were all serious contenders, but......... In the end, I went for an image that came up on the rails at the last minute and really twanged my braces with its detail, its composition and its lovely simplicity. I've chosen Leon's 'Robin' as my POTW. Well done, Leon - that one's a real belter. The original post is here Korky
  4. Great choice - Well done, Denis! Korky
  5. And to end our Sunday morning........... A bit of Sunday morning music. Korky
  6. Been working on this image over the last few days, so when I saw Simon's challenge I thought it might fit the bill. Korky Birmingham City
  7. Hardly Sunday morning music, but well worth a watch as it's just so clever.
  8. The bar has been set pretty high already. And Frau Klik has posted BEFORE 11:59pm on Friday. Mmmmmmmm! Korky
  9. Well done, Brian. This image really made me chuckle. Korky
  10. Hello Scott, welcome to TIPF - as the others have said, it's a friendly place so just jump right in and enjoy. Post a few images, leave a few comments and join in with the challenges if you've a mind. Korky
  11. I'm really sorry to have dropped out of the 52 Project. Since we got home from Cyprus at the start of December I've had a couple of family problems to deal with and a health issue that's been a little worrying. All in all, these things have left me struggling to drum up any interest in my photography and processing. I've tried, but I think it might be best just to wait until my Muse returns rather than trying to force the issue. On the plus side, I've rekindled a couple of loves that I've been separated from for a while. One is reading (I'm currently enjoying A History of Loneliness by Irish writer John Boyne) and two is Marmite (can't leave the stuff alone). So all is not doom and gloom! Good luck with the rest of the challenge - I'll be watching and commenting from the sidelines. Korky
  12. First class! Well done, Roger. Korky
  13. Have a sken on da Tube for Steve Martin (yes, that Steve Martin). He fronts a band called The Steep Canyon Rangers. Korky
  14. I think so, but I've had to wait a long time for someone to agree with me. An absolute classic album though, eh? Sounds as fresh today as it did when it was recorded. And, if I remember correctly, Paul Simon got himself into a sizeable mess of controversy for daring to record the album with black musicians in South Africa, which was still operating the dreadful apartheid system. Just goggled it and the album was released in 1986. Korky
  15. Following on from Fooj's great post, another one to ponder. I'm a great fan of David Francey and - apart from the wonderful song - I love how this video is all rough around the edges. Korky
  16. I've seen Tuba Skinny on da Tube before - I agree, they're a bit good. Korky
