  1. Great shot. Had only seen this on my mobile phone until now. Has to be seen on a big screen!
  2. Not been here before. Someone mistook a photo from Kynance Cove as being this beach so I had to go take a look. Not as dramatic as Kynance, but lots of interesting rocks to work with. Fair to say I ran out of dynamic range and so will try again at a different time. Was a nice surprise to find 4 ponies roaming free on the way back to the car. Very friendly too as they wandered over to say hello.
  3. To be fair, they weren't meant as 'proper shots' just a visual record of where I was.
  4. You could be right. Not often I go for a central horizon and would generally put it on a third. In this instance I felt it worked, but looking again, I think you're right. :-)
  5. Taken this evening. Mullion Island sits just of the coast at Mullion Cove, Cornwall.
  6. Hmmm....won't add the image...says I've used up my attachment space!? Edit...sorted
  7. Tried uploading this with the main post but signal wasn't great where I was stood. Bit of a trek, and very cold!
  8. Wish I'd brought a thermos with me this time!
  9. Weather was awful today. Decided to head to Mullion Cove regardless. Been here a couple of times over the years, but never with the camera. Not sure why not!? Definitely a spot to return to with better conditions.
  10. Cracking shot and well deserved win
  11. Thanks peeps. I am spoilt for places in Cornwall. The best thing is having both a North and south coast 20 mins from each other, so no matter where the sun is, there's a beach basking in it somewhere less than 30 mins away.
  12. One more from the same set...Not my usual style (if I have one!) and I can give fifty reasons it doesn't work...but I kinda like it.
  13. Still my favorite spot Managed to squeeze in an hr this afternoon as the tide was heading out.
  14. Thought it was a flood before I read the description! I can see the light was pretty flat, but I like the image. I'd be tempted to clone out the life preserver and just lose it all together.
  15. I know I've posted pictures from here many times....but I just keep going back. Taken this eve....absolutely freezing!
  16. Congratulations! Well deserved win.
  17. Lovely set of images. Always wanted to visit here.
  18. I drove down to Kynance Cove this evening to try and catch a sunset...so did every other photographer in Cornwall judging by the number of tripods on the cliffs! Unfortunately the sunset wasn't great and whilst everyone sat with their tripods locked on the sun I looked the other way.
  19. From the same shoot. This is a pretty big crop, so used the LR enhance option for the fist time. Works pretty well. Not a substitute for standing in the right place or having the right lens, but still helps as a workaround.
  20. On a recent walk from Kynance Cove to Lizard point, I came across this little cove....well...more of an inlet. No idea what it's called, but it's a pretty little spot to sit and watch the sea. I took loads of shots at various shutter speeds, but nothing seemed to work. The light was pretty dull and wasn't helping. As a last resort I went for a far longer exp. than I normally would at 13sec, and I 'think' it worked out ok.
  21. Cracking shot! Well deserved win!
  22. I didn't notice the people at first...mostly down to viewing on a small screen. But once you see them, it really adds some scale to the image. Great capture.
  23. Can't beat some autumn leaves!
  24. They're lifted from their instagram page, so never gonna be great even with the best printing. Still nice to be in print though.
