  1. I agree, sometimes a bit smaller aperture works wonders. Lone the image,Polly. It seems that a lot of people have had health issues in the last year.
  2. Thanks, James. I think you are right about the western part of their range. They are often here year round But last summer was long and hot so they went to where it was cooler.
  3. Great choice Paul, congratulations vanguard.
  4. Thank you, Geoff. it was right after a very hard rain that stopped suddenly and the drops falling from the tree were pretty big.
  5. Thank you. Polly I agree, I am surprised it even worked. I was chasing drops and snapping
  6. Thanks, Geoff. That would be a question for my wife, she is the one that knows about birds, this Cardinal wasn't afraid of me as most are .I think he was curious about what I was doing.
  7. We had a hard rain that suddenly stopped so I went out looking at puddles. I haven't seen so many big drops on such a small space before, they were just missing my lens at times. I could have had a bit deeper DOF but I am happy with the results. I just kept snapping as It had to stop at any second. note the two that are almost mirror image, Top two are the same image ,different crops
  8. I have a hard time getting a sharp image of these guys They seem to never stop moving.
  9. Thank you,Cheryl, That is part of a wind chime just outside our front door.
  10. I bought a Nikon 70-200 f4 G and 1.7teleconverter. I also pieced together a RRS tripod ring and foot. all almost look like new. here are some of the first images from around close to home.
  11. Beautiful image Geoff. One of my favorites has recently been retired. UP 3985 a 4-6-6-4 a Alcoa challenger class locomotive.I hate to see them retired. 4014 a recently restored 4-8-8-4 "big boy" has taken it's place touring the country during the summer.I have seen 3985 but not yet seen 4014.
  12. I think the negative makes the image,
  13. Thank you Paul, I have been watching for an interesting background for a while now, I may have to provide my own.
  14. Beautiful image Geoff, The one thing I see wrong is, I didn't take it
