I visited Wisley the other day with my little sister. Some shots from the day, trying to harness the light both indoors and outside.

Congratulations Colin - a cracking image.
-
Excellent and imaginative shot. The ambition you mention would take some thinking about.
-
Certainly is a spiky little thing. Terrific set of shots.

My Word! Thank you Polly. You mention the essence of the area - it's a pity we can't photograph silence..........this place was so quiet the lack of noise was reverberating.
-
Spot on Polly. A mountain pass going to Llanberis, I believe.

Thank you Clicker. This was a strange day, weatherwise. The louring sky lasted the entire day, with the intensity of light brightening and fading as the density of the cloud base changed.
-
Thank you both. The photograph doesn't do justice to the scene, Clicker. This was a vista where you had to look twice to see all of it and the only way to get a flavour of the place without distortion was to take overlapping shots and merge to a panorama in post processing. There are more islands to right, but out, of frame.

Two great shots, Clicker - the second being my favorite by a country mile. The foliage in the foreground is icing on the cake.

A beautiful country, which you have captured well.

I remember this iconic plane flying over the skies when I was a child. Also, remember this beautiful lady flew non stop from the ascension island, (through refuelling), to attack the Argentine held Falkland Islands in 1984.

I saw this some years ago. Slapton Sands, where over a thousand US troops died, 400 from friendly fire and 749 by enemy fire, when they were surprised by German E-boats as they practised beach landings for D-Day.

Excellent shot, Paul.

A great set Stravinsky. Number three for me.

Thank you all for the comments. It was the perfect day for photography - even through midday, with the fast moving clouds covering the sun, causing those glorious shadows on the distant mountains and hills. I had a fantastic day, even if it meant driving for about nine hours.

Wow! There's a different perspective for you. I love the low angles of the railway points - such a depth to the images.

Welcome to the forum A&H, this is a nice place to be. We have some amazing photographers here - enough to keep you inspired for months to come. I look forward to seeing some of your work.
