Thank you all for the nice comments, Military aviation is my 1st choice for photography then BIF and wildlife followed by landscapes. Not really into Airshows though too busy for for me, I like my own space lol or with a couple of mates

The Osprey was shot at 1/40 fortunately it was head on son not too difficult, The Chinook was 1/80 and therst around 1/100 We refer to some of the shots as "Long sheep" as you will see on one of these shots we are panning quite quickly and using low shutter as well it does rahter extend the lengh of the sheep bodies in the back ground. All shot on varius eqipment from 7D 7D2 6D with various lens 70=200mmf4L 100-400mm mk 1 and mk2 my favouites are the Herc close up bottom image in full snow minus 14 behind the rocks and minus 21 in the wind this and the A400m are printed at 30 x 20 inch and mounted on our lounge wall Hercs and A400 tend to have the propeller tips painted as can be seen and this does accentuate the full discs we like to get. Did some estimating on Osprey and reckon a shutter speed of around 1/8 sec needed to achieve a full disc.

WOW thank you all for the nice comments. Slow shutter speeds are something i like playing with, I have some that go down as low as 1/20 sec of USAF Ospreys and RAF Chinooks they have exremely large rotor blades and rotate a lot slower than the average propeller planes will post up a few soon

Well spotted, I wouldn’t have seen it

Thank you Paul, they are very hard to get in focus as there not to far away and dart all over the place with a large lens it’s awkward
