Thanks Clicker, yes I'm lucky were I live; there are 4 heritage railways within 25 miles of my house, the Ribble Steam Railway at Preston, East Lancs Railway, Embsay Steam Railway near Skipton, the Keighley and Worth Valley Railway, there's also a narrow gauge railway the West Lancs Railway near Southport. Apparently not, the deltic engine was used in class 55 and class 23 loco's, this one is a class 37
  4. Thanks Clicker, actually I was stood at a foot crossing that leads to a public foot path. The station at Summerseat is about 400 yards behind me.

  7. Hi malaki, welcome to forum, regarding image sizes there is a limit to the file size per post. I think your main problem is not with the lenses themselves, assuming these are both f3.5. The main problem in both images is the foreground and subject are almost on the same focal plane. I'll post a couple of images to show this. These were both taken at f4, in the first image there is nothing in front of the subject, which is the stone ball, so all the background is blurred. In this second image a foreground object is some distance in front of the subject, and I used a single focus point so both the foreground and background are blurred but the subject is in focus. Again taken at f4 Judging from the tight spaces you're working with it might not be possible to do much about the DoF
  8. That is a great image and a very striking looking church.

  11. I don't know if anyone else has heard of this but all copper line services will be shutting down by end of 2025 and be replaced with digital and fibre services, this applies to landlines and broadband providers using Openreach, which is most of them. there is a page on Openreach which describes what will happen: https://www.openreach.com/fibre-broa...copper-network
  12. Thanks Paul, I really miss her, whenever I go downstairs I expect to see sat next to her food and water bowls.
